Jamaicans are accustom to seeing these headlines “Jamaican police shot and kill man in broad daylight“, “Jamaican police shoots taxi man” or “Man attacks police, shot dead“. Most of us would expect that when a mad man with a machete confronts a group of Jamaican police, the outcome usually ends with the headlines, “Mad Man attacks police, shot dead”
To be fair these incidents happens all over the world and I think most police officers respond in a way to protect, not deliberately kill for the sake of it. But when I saw this video, I was pleasantly surprised.

Listen at 0:26 as a bystander shouts “shoot the man inna im foot” but the Jamaican police were patient and at the right moment disarmed the mentally ill man with no injuries or loss of life.
I want to put this in context by including the following videos of Jamaican police confrontations with civilians.[youlist vid=”IOpFdHmD4RY,7oFL95kKMaA,AFWm2B-r2dg”]
